The Silver Dollar is one of the best gems on Frankfort Avenue and in all of Louisville.
Made out of an old firehouse The Silver Dollar has as much character as any restaurant in the Derby City. Colored Christmas lights invite you into this unique and eclectic environment creating a glow off of the patrons’ faces and bourbon bottles at the bar at the north side of the restaurant.
The decor is only the start to the excitement. The Silver Dollar is known well for their bourbon selection. Their spirits menu includes almost ten pages purely devoted to bourbons and whiskeys. They also have a nice selection of beers, ciders, tequilas and mezcal.
The Southern cuisine is delicious and some of the best in town. I’ve personally had the beef brisket, beer can hen and chicken & waffle and each of them are superb. Their sides are delicious too. The beef brisket is a step above and the best brisket in the entire city.
Overall, The Silver Dollar gets the gold and is one of my favorite restaurants in town.
